I’m thinking of applying for this role, the chair of the FA – the vacancy was created today in fairly bizarre circumstances.

A friend once said to me ’Sometimes I think I only open my mouth to swap feet’.

Greg Clarke had that kind of day today in front of the Sport and Culture select committee.

But his recent form has been just as poor – he was more than economical with the truth about project Big Picture, being openly hostile when the story broke and claiming no knowledge, only to be found out as having been a founding instigator. He then claimed to have broken off talks months ago, only to be found out again…..For me he’s no loss to football or the FA.

Here’s my pitch for the job;

Dear FA, I’d like to apply for the newly vacant role of Chair.
I’m not racist or sexist or homophobic and I’ll tell you the truth – about project Big Picture and anything else.
Actually I may be a little over qualified…
