Nile Rodgers Joins the Skydiamond Revolution with Exclusive CHIC Brooch

June 12, 2026By: Team Dale

Mining diamonds from the ground is one of the most destructive things we do for luxury. So we found another way.

Music legend Nile Rodgers has collaborated with the greats of music over the years, from Bowie to Madonna and Daft Punk. His latest collaboration is with our little sky mining company where we crafted an exclusive CHIC brooch made from diamonds created from the sky.

Nile wore the piece on the red carpet at this year's Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony in New York, where Taylor Swift became the youngest woman ever inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside fellow honourees Alanis Morissette, Raye, John Fogerty, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Kenny Loggins and Christopher "Tricky" Stewart.

The brooch is a collaboration between Skydiamond and Nile Rodgers' iconic band CHIC. It's made with more than a carat of Skydiamonds, set in recycled silver and inspired by the band's instantly recognisable logo and musical legacy.

Priced at £1,976, a nod to the year CHIC was formed, a percentage of every sale will support Nile's We Are Family Foundation, which helps young people around the world create positive change.

The collaboration began with a gift.

We made a bespoke Skydiamond brooch for Nile. He loved it and wanted to make it available to CHIC fans as part of the band's merchandise collection. It's a meeting of music, design and sustainability, and proof that luxury doesn't have to cost the Earth.

Ahead of the launch, Nile visited our Sky Lab in Gloucestershire to see how we make diamonds from the sky using just four natural ingredients: sunshine, wind, rainwater and atmospheric carbon dioxide.

It's a process that sounds like science fiction but is actually 21st century alchemy. We take carbon from the atmosphere and turn it into diamonds. Real diamonds. Identical to mined diamonds in every way, except for the environmental destruction.

The bling without the sting.

Unlike mined diamonds, which leave enormous scars on landscapes and ecosystems, Sky Diamonds are made entirely using renewable energy and have full traceability from beginning to end. They're also the world's only carbon-negative diamonds.

Nile got the idea immediately. He's passionate about sustainability and understands that innovation is how we solve problems.

If we can make diamonds from the sky, what else can we reimagine?

That's the real point of this collaboration. Not just a beautiful piece of jewellery, but a demonstration of what's possible when creativity, technology and sustainability come together.

For years we've been told that luxury requires extraction, destruction and compromise. It doesn't.

Whether it's energy, transport, food or diamonds, there is always another way.

The limited-edition CHIC x Skydiamond brooch is available through Skydiamond via NileRodgers.com.

Because the future should sparkle a bit more than the past...:)
