It’s do or die for Labour

Labour is on the edge of a knife. If they don’t get energy bills down, they’ll lose the next election simple as that.

That’s Dale’s warning to Keir Starmer, and it’s not said lightly. People are struggling, and if Labour doesn’t fix the broken energy market, the likes of Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage will have a field day, using high bills as proof that net zero isn’t working. The problem isn’t green energy it’s the way the market is rigged, tying renewable prices to the cost of fossil fuels. Labour’s promised to cut bills by £300 a year by 2030, but that won’t be enough unless they go further and faster. They need to break the link between gas and electricity prices.
